NEW YORK, Ny. (WUSA) -- Hello, hello, from the second greatest city in the entire world.
There is no more exhilarating offseason than the NBA. Star players are routinely traded, which is why you can actually mentally picture any one of these rumors coming true.
NBA Draft Media availability starts at the Westin Hotel at 12:30, where I will be providing tweets, quotes, pictures and possibly video.
As you will see in the rumors below, the presumed Wizards pick (Bradley Beal) may very well be swooped up with the second overall pick, most likely not by the Charlotte Bobcats, who are fervently shopping the pick. As devastating as that would be, the Wizards still have two distinct options.
Option A: Get on the phone all day today and gauge which teams are most interested in Thomas Robinson or Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. The Wizards should draft the rights of one of those two players, and trade down for additional draft picks. Neither MKG or T-Rob are an ideal fit, something that has to be taken into consideration because of the Wizards lack of salary cap room. If the Wizards don't add an adequate young shooter, the playoff prediction won't be realistic.
Option B: If Beal is gone before the third pick, trade back in the 10-14 area and select the best available shooting guard -- UCONN's Jeremy Lamb or Washington's Terrence Ross comes to mind.
