WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- He hails from Brazil and stands in 6-foot-11. His name is Nene and he's all professional. Unexpectedly, to all parties involved, Nene is now a Washington Wizard. The center boasted career averages of 12.9 points and 6.9 rebounds in his eight and a half seasons with the Denver Nuggets.

Here is what he had to say Monday afternoon:

On this past season in Denver: "It was crazy...there were a lot of men down, a lot of injuries. What I want is to give my best, come in [to Washington] make a new life, a brand new career, doing much better than I did in the past."

On the last few days in Denver: "It was crazy, it was tough. I don't like to mention it much...because I still have no clue what happened. I trust my lord, I trust my god. He put me here. I know when he traded me's for a better start."

On how he first found out about the trade: "You don't want to know." [laughs]

On if he was surprised that he got dealt: Yes I was surprised, but it doesn't matter. I put it behind [me]...I know I've been through a lot of situations. I believe this for [the] good."

On John Wall: "He reminds me a little bit of Ty Lawson. He's young, a lot of talent."

On playing an up-tempo style: "That will be fine with me. I try to read the game. I already spoke with the coach and he will give me thoughts about how the process is going to be."

On the rumors of the Nuggets buyers remorse: "I know this is a business. I trust my god. I know I will be successful."

On playing a leadership role: "Oh definitely. We going to help. We have we need to help the [younger players] read the game. [We have the talent]. Now we need to read, pace yourself a little bit...understand a little bit more of the game, and we'll be fine.
