Foxborough, MA (Sports Network) - The New England Revolution won for just the second time in 16 games on Saturday, claiming a 1-0 win over the Chicago Fire at Gillette Stadium courtesy of a 17th-minute goal from Diego Fagundez.

The result drops Chicago out of second place and is the team's third defeat in the last past four matches.

Fagundez found space 30 yards from goal, and after taking a few dribbles toward the penalty area, he unleashed a shot that beat goalkeeper Sean Johnson and sailed inside the left post.

New England could have added to its lead 20 minutes from time after a free kick found its way through traffic and fell to Kelyn Rowe at the back post, but he failed to turn it on target.

The best chance for the Fire to equalize came in the 73rd minute when Gonzalo Segares got into the area on the left but failed to test goalkeeper Bobby Shuttleworth, who was at the mercy of the Chicago defender.
