Cincinnati, OH (Sports Network) - Ryan Hanigan hit a three-run homer and
Brandon Phillips smacked a two-run shot to lead the Cincinnati Reds past the
Chicago Cubs, 7-4, in the opener of a three-game set at Great American Ball
Joey Votto went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and scored twice and Xavier Paul
drove in a run for the Reds, winners in four straight.
Bronson Arroyo (5-4) allowed three runs on six hits over six frames to get the
win. Aroldis Chapman stranded a pair of runners in the ninth for his 11th save
of the season.
Scott Feldman (4-4) was tagged for five runs on seven hits over 5 1/3 innings
to absorb the loss.
Feldman also stroked his first career homer, a two-run blast in the second
inning, and Carlos Valbuena and Darwin Barney added one RBI apiece for the
Cubs, losers in five straight.
