Midland, Texas (Sports Network) - Alex Aragon fired a 6-under 66 on Sunday to
win the WNB Golf Classic by a single stroke.
Aragon jumped 11 places on the final day and finished at 16-under 272 for his
second career Web.com Tour win and first since capturing the TPC Stonebrae
Championship in 2012.
With Aragon in the clubhouse, Byron Smith grabbed a share of the lead with a
birdie on the 15th, but he bogeyed the next hole at Midland Country Club and
settled for a 70 and a second-place finish at 15-under 273.
Brice Garnett shot 71 and placed third at 13-under, while overnight-leader
Edward Loar stumbled to a 75 and tied for fourth place with Will MacKenzie
(72) and Nick Flanagan (74) at minus-12.
Second-round co-leader Danny Lee (73), Miguel Angel Carballo (70), Rod
Pampling (69) and Todd Baek (70) tied for seventh at 11-under, while Whee Kim
(72), Ben Martin (72), Joe Durant (73) and Martin Piller (73) ended knotted in
11th at minus-10.
