New York, NY (Sports Network) - Alabama is once again a unanimous choice as the top-ranked team in the nation, while Notre Dame is back in the top five.

The Crimson Tide received all 60 first-place votes and a total of 1,500 points from a nationwide media panel for a third straight week after its 42-10 thumping of Missouri on Saturday.

Oregon was idle this weekend and remains second, while Florida, Kansas State and Notre Dame round out this week's top five after losses by South Carolina and West Virginia.

Florida moved up one spot to third, while Kansas State and Notre Dame each jumped two places. South Carolina's 23-21 loss at LSU on Saturday dropped the Gamecocks six places from third to ninth, while West Virginia tumbled 12 spots from fifth to 17th after suffering a humbling 49-14 setback at Texas Tech.

LSU moved up three places to sixth and is followed by Ohio State, Oregon State, South Carolina and Oklahoma.

The second 10 consists of Southern California, Florida State, Georgia, Clemson, Mississippi State, Louisville, West Virginia, Texas Tech, Rutgers and Texas A&M. Texas Tech is ranked for the first time this season after its rout of the Mountaineers.

Cincinnati, Stanford, Michigan, Boise State and Ohio are the last five teams ranked this week. Stanford dropped five places from 17th after a controversial overtime loss at Notre Dame. Ohio, at 7-0 for the first time since 1968, is ranked for the first time since the final week of the '68 season.

Texas and Louisiana Tech each dropped out this week. The Longhorns were 15th before a 63-21 loss to Oklahoma in the Red River Rivalry, while Louisiana Tech had a one-week stay in the poll at No. 23 after suffering its first loss of the season in a 59-57 shootout against Texas A&M.

Once again, the SEC has pair of ranked matchups next weekend as Florida hosts South Carolina and LSU visits Texas A&M. Also, Kansas State will travel to West Virginia.
