Dayton, OH (Sports Network) - Ray McCallum tallied 24 points, seven rebounds,
and five assists to help lead the Detroit Titans to an 83-76 win over the
Wright State Raiders in a Horizon League showdown at the Nutter Center.
McCallum's big night helped overshadow his seven turnovers for Detroit (14-8,
6-3 Horizon), which has won three of four. Nick Minnerath netted 18 points for
the visitors, while Doug Anderson and Juwan Howard, Jr. put up 15 and 11
For Wright State (14-8, 5-4), Jerran Young came off the bench to tally 14
points, while Reggie Arceneaux had 12 points, five assists, and four steals.
Kendall Griffin scored 11 points, and Cole Darling finished with 10 points and
nine rebounds for the Raiders, who have lost three straight games for the
first time all season.
Wright State led by nine with 2:12 left in the first half, but Detroit closed
the frame out on an 8-0 run to cut its deficit to just one, 41-40, heading
The game was tightly-contest for much of the second half until the Titans ran
off an 11-0 spurt to take a 12-point advantage with just over two minutes to
Detroit committed a game-high 21 turnovers, but made up for it by shooting
54.2 percent from the field and winning the rebounding battle, 39-25.
