Clarksville, TN (Sports Network) - Derek Needham scored 12 points, leading
five players in double figures, as the Fairfield Stags posted a 74-55 win over
the Austin Peay Governors in non-conference play at Dave Aaron Arena.
Needham, who missed all four of his three-point attempts in the meeting, did
register a game-high nine assists for the Stags (4-4) as they snapped a two-
game slide. Josip Mikulic and Marcus Gilbert accounted for 11 points apiece
while Desmond Wade and Maurice Barrow responded with 10 points each.
The Governors (3-4) were paced by Travis Betran who scored a game-high 17
points, followed by Will Triggs with 11 and Anthony Campbell 10 points in
their second loss in the last three outings. Chris Horton added nine points
eight rebounds and three blocked shots as well.
Limited to just nine made field goals in the first half, the Govs had to
settle for a 36-28 deficit at the break.
