LAUREL, Md. (WUSA) - Police say they're investigating a crash involving one of their own officers.
According to authorities, shortly before 4 a.m. Sunday, a 2008 marked Howard County police cruiser was going southbound on Washington Boulevard while a 2002 Mazda Protege was heading in the opposite direction and crashed head on with the cruiser.
The Dodge cruiser was driven by Pfc. Byung Moon, a five year veteran of the HCPD. He was transported to University of Maryland Shock Trauma with non-life threatening injuries. The othe rdriver, Ruben Guillen, was also take there in stable condition.
Police say alcohol is believed to be a factor in this crash.
