FORESTVILLE, Md. (WUSA9) -- Charnell Francise Gant was arrested this weekend and charged with attempted first degree murder following a domestic dispute, officials said on Monday.
On July 6, deputies from the Prince George's County Sheriff's Office responded to a 911 call on the 6500 block of Hilmar Dr. When they arrived deputies found a male suffering from lacerations to his stomach, officials said.
"The victim told deputies that Charnell Gant stabbed him with a butcher-styled knife following a verbal dispute," deputies said in a press release.
The victim was transported to a local hospital to be treated.
During the investigation, deputies found the knife used in the attack hiding near a neighbors house. Grant was then arrested and charged with attempted first degree murder, deputies said.
