BALTIMORE (WUSA9) -- Two died and four others were rescued after a 25-foot boat overturned near Point Lookout State Park in Scotland, Md. on Saturday.
The Coast Guard and local authorities responded after a charter captain heard a radio call for assistance for the overturned boat at 8:30 a.m., the U.S. Coast Guard said in a press release.
The Coast Guard watchstanders said the captain received the call from a family member of one of the people aboard who got a call from her sibling saying "they were taking on water and then lost communications."
Crews from the Coast Guard - Baltimore Section, St. Mary's County fire and rescue, Maryland Natural Resource Police and helicopter crews from Naval Air Station Patuxent River and Maryland Police are also responding.
