WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- A man plead guilty to second-degree murder while armed in killing a NE deli owner, police said.
Steven Williams, 46, of Washington, D.C., pled guilty today to a
charge of second-degree murder in the June 2012 slaying of the owner of a deli owner. He could serve up to 40 years in prison, officials said.
Police found the dead body of victim, Hae Soon Lim, 64, on the floor of Grace's Deli in the 700 block of H Street NE. An autopsy showed that she was killed from a single gunshot wound that entered through the back of her neck. Surveillance video from the location shows the series of event prior to Lim being shot. Police found an empty brown handgun holster on the floor next to the body. DNA from the holster matched that of the defendant, it said in a news release.
Williams was charged with the murder in November 2012.
