Daffodils poke through snow in Frederick Md. Monday
FREDERICK, Md. (WUSA9) -- Motorists venturing onto Frederick County roads will find wet and slushy conditions as a heavy wet spring snowfall coats the area.
Traffic is moving at highway speeds on major roads such as Interstate 70. However, slush on shoulders has resulted in at least one car losing control near Mt. Airy. The vehicle was towed from the median of the westbound side. There was no injury.
Meanwhile, daffodils are peaking up through about 3 inches of snow that has fallen in Frederick by noon Monday.
In downtown historic Front Royal, Virginia, an estimated five to six inches of snow came down but just a little further west - nine inches of snow accumulated.
