Md. Police Launch Drunk Driving Operation This Weekend

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (WUSA9) -- Every 57 hours a drunk driver kills someone in Maryland, the Prince George's County Police Dept. said in a press release. 

For this reason, Prince George's County Police and law enforcement agencies across the state will be implementing a drunk driving enforcement operation this weekend called: Project SOLO - Saving Our Loved Ones. 

Prince George's County police will be patrolling from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. starting Friday through Sunday night. 

Officers will be patrolling the areas of University Boulevard corridor and Route 1 by the University of Maryland, Pennsylvania Ave., Marlboro Pike, Silver Hill Road, Branch Ave., and Allentown Rd. along the Maryland 210 corridor, police said. 

The project will run on designated nights through May 2013.
