Victor T Ellis of Alexandria Charged With Burglary, Petit Larceny After Pursuit And Crash

(WUSA9) -- A suspect in a burglary in Fairfax on Saturday was finally arrested after a police pursuit and crash, say Fairfax County Police.

According to police, Victor Ellis of Alexandria is accused of stealing a purse from a woman's home on Great Laurel Lane in Fairfax while the woman was sitting in the kitchen. Police say they were not able to find him until Sunday.

Police say on Sunday at approximately 6 a.m., Ellis fled from officers in a vehicle, leading them on a pursuit from Fairfax County Parkway and Leesburg Pike. Ellis reportedly crash the car in Loudoun County and managed to get away. Officers in the Herndon area finally took him into custody at 10:45 a.m.

Ellis is charged with burglary, entering a vehicle to commit a crime, and petit larceny. 

Police not that there have been several burglaries in the Fair Oaks and Reston Police Districts as well as Loudoun County which could be related. Police say they are still investigating those cases.
