Human Remains Found In Laurel

LAUREL, Md. (WUSA9) -- Anne Arundel County police say a couple found a human skull while they were bird watching and hiking in Laurel, Md. on Sunday. The couple called police who responded to the scene in the area of Spring Road and Whiskey Bottom Road at approximately noon.

Police say the remains were recovered and transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore. Police say the the examiner confirmed the remains are human. 

The cause and manner of death is undetermined, say police.
