HERNDON, Va. (WUSA9) -- A Herndon man died after an early morning crash on Saturday, Fairfax County Police say.
According to police, the victim was the passenger in a 1997 BMW and was ejected from the car when the driver lost control. The driver, later identified as 23-year-old Elixavier Ramirez, ran off the right side of the road, causing the vehicle to roll near Butter Churn Drive.
The passenger was ejected from the car and run over by the driver when Ramirez drove off to flee the scene with his other passenger, police said.
Ramirez was later arrested when he tried to report that his car had been stolen. He was charged with felony hit and run, no operator's license and filing a false report, police said.
Wilson Escobar, the second passenger, was located after he approached a deputy in Loudoun County to inform that he had been in a crash. He was transported to Fairfax Hospital with non-life threatening injures, police said.
