BALTIMORE (AP) - The Chesapeake Bay Foundation says a Baltimore law firm is asking rural counties to challenge the new federally led bay restoration effort.
The foundation called the firm's effort the most serious attack on clean water that it has seen in Maryland. It said Tuesday that it has sent a letter to Gov. Martin O'Malley asking him to fight move.
The governor posted the foundation's letter on his Web blog. He said restoring the bay will take a coordinated effort and he wanted to share what he called a disturbing letter about something that threatens to undermine that effort.
Attorney David Funk says his firm, Funk & Bolton, is representing local governments that are trying to determine the most cost effective way to restore the bay.
