Taxi Driver Pulled From Burning Car In Washington, D.C. Crash

WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- DC Police say a taxi driver was pulled from his burning vehicle in Northeast DC late Wednesday night after the cab drove off the road and into a fence.

Police responded to a report of a car crash in the 1400 block of Brentwood Parkway near Gallaudet University shortly after 9:00 p.m. They found a car had traveled off the road and into a fence. 

Firefighters responded to the scene to extinguish the fire and removed a man from the four-door Lincoln taxi cab. Police say the driver was dead and his body was taken to the Medical Examiner's office. The medical examiner will perform an autopsy to determine his cause of death.

Police continue to investigate the incident and have not named the driver.
