On Nov. 4 at about 10:44 p.m. a passerby saw an unconscious man lying on the shoulder of Poplar Hill Road near Slater Drive in Waldorf. The man was alive but sustained severe injuries from being hit by a car.

The 52-year-old man was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition. His identity has not been released.

Several car parts were recovered from the scene and are believed to belong to an Infiniti QX4, jade/silver in color, and a 2001-2004 model, similar to the car pictured above, the Sheriff's Dept. said. Officials also believe the car may have damage to the front headlight area.
