Wellington Market In Manassas, Va. Robbed At Knife Point Again

MANASSAS, Va. (WUSA) -- A store in Manassas has been robbed for a second time by a suspect with a large knife and police need your help in capturing the suspect, Manassas City Police said. 

The latest incident took place on Oct. 23 at about 7:30 p.m. at Wellington Market located at 9911 Wellington Road. Manassas City Police say according to the witness the suspect approached the store with a knife in his pocket as he was trying to put on a black cloth mask.

Surveillance video shows the suspect entering the store, removing cash from the register and fleeing the scene on foot. The footage also matches the suspect's description given by the witness, police said. 

The suspect is described by police as a black male, approximately 30 years-old, 6 feet tall, close shaved hair cut, last scene wearing dark grey, faded jeans, light colored shoes, a black sweatshirt with a white or light grey shirt underneath.

On Oct. 20, surveillance video shows a man matching the same description above entering the store, displaying a large knife to the clerk, taking money from the register and fleeing on foot. This time around the suspect was wearing a white cloth mask.

In both cases the customers were unharmed.

Manassas City Police is offering a $1,000 dollar reward for information leading to an arrest in this case. The confidential tip line is 703-330-0330.
