Firefighters Distribute Coats In Va.

ALEXANDRIA (WUSA) -- Firefighters are preparing kids for the cold weather in Fairfax County by distributing new winter coats for children and youths through high school age on Wednesday, Oct. 24 at 11 a.m., at Penn Daw Fire and Rescue Station in Va.

Located at 6624 Hulvey Terrace in Alexandria, Va., this coat event will benefit more than 2,000 youths and their families as well as area preschool children.

This is the sixth year the department has sponsored this community event in cooperation with Operation Warm, a non-profit that helps provide new winter coats to children who can't afford them as well as other businesses and organizations.
