WASHINGTON (AP) - Two District of Columbia men have pleaded guilty to shooting and killing a Metrobus rider last year.
The U.S. Attorney's office says 24-year-old Delron Atchison of northeast Washington and 22-year-old Vincent Gray of southeast Washington pleaded guilty Friday to second-degree murder.
Atchison also pleaded guilty to assault charges relating to three other bus passengers seated near the man the pair targeted.
Authorities say 22-year-old Demetrius Thompson of Washington was killed in the incident Oct. 20, 2011. The two men fought with the victim and boarded the bus around midnight. According to prosecutors, Atchison pulled out a handgun and shot Thompson twice.
The shooting was caught on security video. The two suspects were arrested five days later in Orlando, Fla. They are scheduled to be sentenced Dec. 14.
