Police: Man Robbed Same Bank In August Last Year

ROCKVILLE, Md. (WUSA) -- Montgomery County Police say they now believe that the same man who robbed a Capitol One Bank on September 18 robbed the bank in August 2011.

In the most recent robbery, the man walked into the bank at 101 Halpine Road shortly before 12:12 p.m., approached the teller, and gave a note demanding cash and implying a weapon, say police. The teller gave the man cash and then he fled on foot. 

He was described as a black male, approximately 6' tall, who was wearing a black jacket and a black and white hooded sweatshirt.

Police say the same man may have robbed this bank on August 20, 2011 at approximately 10 a.m. In that robbery, the suspect approached the teller and presented a note demanding cash. He was described as a black male, 6'3? tall, and approximately 25 to 30 years old. He was wearing a black windbreaker, blue jeans, and black sneakers.

Police released surveillance photos from both robberies in hopes that the public might be able to help them identify the suspect.
