WALDORF, Md. (WUSA) -- Fire investigators say that someone lit a pyrotechnic shell underneath a car in a community in Charles County, causing $5,000 worth of damage.
The incident happened early Tuesday morning, shortly before 2, in the 1700 block of Brightwell Court in Waldorf. Fire officials say that the car was also spray painted when it was found on fire in the community of Bannister. The fire was extinguished in about 5 minutes.
Fire investigators and officials with the Charles County Sheriff's Office want to hear from witnesses or anyone else who may have information about the fire. You are asked to call the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office at 443-550-6834.
