WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- Because I help produce our new WUSA-9 show "Game On, Overtime" on Sunday's and am attending Wizards media day and the Nats game tomorrow, I won't have time for any extensive Redskins blogging until Tuesday.

But I couldn't resist posting this gem from Robert Griffin III's press conference following Washington's 24-22 win in Tampa Bay.

Asked about his late game heroics, the Redskins rookie quarterback spewed out the following gem.

"You try and rise to the occasion. Think about the movie called The Replacements ... they said 'great players want the ball in their hands when it's crunch-time.' It's funny I just quoted that movie," said Griffin as he and the media burst into laughter.

"But it's also funny that ... that's how it really is. It's true. You want the ball in your hands. When something has to happen, you make it happen. And that's what we did."

This guy is almost as good at delivering quotes as he is at being the best athlete in Washington D.C. Griffin also revealed during his presser that his headset was not working properly, meaning that the rookie was calling most of the plays on his own.

Rookie of the year honors as well as the pro bowl are certainly within reach for Griffin III, with 25 percent of the season now complete.

Oh, and by the way, his scrambling plays Sunday in Tampa during the first and fourth quarters were absolutely vital to the Redskins victory.
