Demetrius Jerome Coles Arrested For Breaking And Entering After Spotted With Water Jug Containing Money

LANDOVER, Md. (WUSA) -- Monday afternoon, a Prince George's County police officer saw a man carrying a five-gallon water jug full of money in Landover, and went to talk to him. The man then dropped the jug and ran.

The incident occurred in the 1700 block of Countrywood Court. Afte the officer called for backup, officers spotted the man near a wooded area and chased him.

Nineteen-year-old Demetrius Jerome Coles of Capitol Heights was arrested.

Police say officers also recovered a flat screen television in a wooded area. They also found the front door of a home had been kicked in on the street the officer first spotted Coles, according to police.

The jug contained approximately $750. 

Police say Coles faces first degree breaking and entering and other charges.
