OXON HILL, Md. (WUSA) - Officers in Prince George's County are investigating a shooting, which took place along the Prince George's County/Washington, D.C. border on Tuesday night.
Police say they responded to an area in Oxon Hill where a man was supposedly shooting a gun randomly in the neighborhood. When officials arrived, they found the armed suspect not far in the 800 block of Southern Avenue along the Prince George's County/Washington, D.C. border.
According to officials, the police told the suspect to drop the weapon, but he refused and began to fire multiple times at the officers. The two officers returned fire and critically injured the suspect who was later transported to a local hospital. Police say the suspect remains in stable condition.
The two officers involved in this incident have been placed on routine administrative leave according to police.
