WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- Former D.C. Council Chairman Kwame Brown was scheduled for a sentencing hearing on September 20, but there has been a change.

According to a court docket entry, a motion to continue sentencing that was filed on September 7 was granted to "allow the defendant to complete his cooperation." Brown's sentencing date has been rescheduled for the morning of November 12.

Brown pleaded guilty to lying about his income on bank loan applications and to a misdemeanor campaign finance violation.

He resigned from the council in June.
