Police Seek Person Of Interest in July homicide of Darryl Sweet of Washington, D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WUSA)  - MPD is asking the public's assistance in identifying a person of interest in connection to the homicide of Darryl Sweet, which took place in the 3800 block of Minnesota Avenue, NE.


On  July 26, 2012, at approximately 10:06 pm, DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the 3800 block of Minnesota Avenue, NE for the report of an intoxicated male.  They found an unconscious man who was unresponsive. He was taken to an area hospital, and it was determined he was suffering from an internal head wound. On Friday, July 27, 2012, he was pronounced dead.

He was identified as 61-year-old Darryl Eugene Sweet Sr. of Southeast, Washington, DC. After an autopsy, his death was ruled a homicide by blunt force trauma to the head.
