Ana Ruth Melendez Rodriguez of Harpers Ferry, W. Va., charged with robbery, threat to bomb

HERNDON, Va. (WUSA) - A West Virginia woman has been arrested and charged with robbery and a threat to bomb, according to the Herndon Police Dept.

Ana Ruth Melendez Rodriguez of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, was arrested July 27 after a police investigation into a robbery at Cambio de Cheque at 1100 Elden St, Suite F, in Herdon that took place Thursday.  The female suspect entered the business, demanded cash and then handed over a note that said a bomb was located in the lobby, and another bomb was in the parking lot.

Police searched the building and the area, closed several roads and evacuated surrounding businesses. No bomb was foun.

Rodriguez was taken into custody and is being held without bond at the Fairfax County ADC.
