WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- One of two men convicted in the killing of 19-year-old Jamal Wilson has been sentenced to 35 years in prison.

Twenty-two-year-old Jeremy Risper was found guilty in March of first degree murder while armed and other offenses. He was sentenced Friday for his role in the November 2010 slaying. Another man, Kwan Kearney, fired the fatal shot and was sentenced to 46 years in prison this past June.

According to evidence, Kearney and Risper got into a fight with Wilson, who was their friend. Kearney apparently had gotten into a fight on November 13, 2010 and Wilson and other friend had refused to help. Risper chose to join Kearney in following Wilson and friends for blocks. The pursuit ended when Kearney shot Wilson through the heart in the unit block of P Street NW around 12:30 a.m. on November 14, 2010.
