WASHINGTON, D.C. (WUSA) - Thunderstorms tore through the D.C. area on Thursday night, dumping heavy rain and hail in some spots, and leaving thousands without power.

We've had reports of power lines down and Topper Shutt says the flash flood warning is in effect until 1:30 a.m. The storms are east of town, raining heavily on Prince George's County and toward Annapolis.

Pepco reports 15,000 outages as of 11 p.m.
