WASHINGTON (AP) - Four District of Columbia police officers have been indicted for an assault near a nightclub on K Street in Washington.
Police say a fight broke out in the early morning hours June 10. Investigators reviewing video of the incident later recognized that several off-duty police officers were involved in the fight.
The officers were assigned to the department's First District. They are identified as Kenneth McRavin, Thaddeus Modlin and Nikeith Goins. They were indicted Wednesday in the case, along with First District Officer Yolanda Lampkin.
Police Chief Cathy Lanier says there are no exceptions for those who break the law. She says officers must abide by the same laws and standards as the public, whether on duty or off duty.
