RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Democratic gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe's campaign released six pages of income tax summaries showing he paid nearly $4 million in taxes from 2009 through 2011, but omitted telling details of the filings.
The master fundraiser for his party's elite and for three years chairman of an electric-car company with ties to China reported total income over those years ranging from $8.3 million in 2011 to $1.9 million in 2010 and $6.6 million in 2009. There was no summary from the most recent year, 2012.
Campaign officials made only the first two pages of McAuliffe's federal returns available Tuesday evening.
His GOP rival, Ken Cuccinelli, released eight years' worth of detailed returns last week amid questions of conflicts of interest from his stock in a troubled Virginia dietary supplements maker.
