ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WUSA9) -- Members of the Maryland General assembly unanimously passed a bill to make cyber bullying a crime.
The measure was spearheaded by a Howard County mother who lost her 15-year-old daughter last Easter. Grace McComas took her own life after family and friends say she was bullied and harassed on line. "We could see what it was doing to her," said her mother Christine McComas, but we couldn't do anything about it."
Under the law, anyone committed of cyber bullying faces a fine of $500 and a year behind bars.
