LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. (WUSA) -- Several campaign signs were vandalized Tuesday morning in a homeowners front lawn, Loudoun County Sheriff's Office said.

The signs were defaced with racial slurs, a swastika, and profanity near the intersection of Broad Run Drive and Dairy Lane in Sterling, the LoudounTimes.com reports.

Officials say, a third party called in to report the vandalism but deputies have not been able to make contact with the homeowners.

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office says they are patrolling the area.
