WINCHESTER, Va. (WUSA9) -- Winchester officials say that a storm on Monday morning caused a gas leak, which led to the closure of the Apple Blossom Mall.
The mall's management says the mall should reopen at approximately 12:30 p.m., but the Charlotte Russe store will stay closed because it has roof damage.
The storm rolled in Winchester at approximately 8:30 a.m., say officials. Firefighters discovered that two air conditioning units on top of the building were damaged by the high winds and leaking natural gas. The mall was evacuated and closed.
At 11:30 a.m. the mall was being ventilated and the building inspector cleared the mall to reopen.
