ALEXANDRIA, Va. (WUSA9) -- Alexandria Police say a woman was able to fight off her would-be abductor on Sept. 9 as she was walking home from the King Street Metro station.
The incident happened at approximately 9:41 p.m. in the 2000 block of King Street. The woman told police a man approached her from behind, grabbed her, and attempted to pull her over a wall onto the grounds of the Masonic Memorial.
Police say she was able to fight off the suspect and was not injured.
The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5'5" tall, say police. He was wearing a ball cap, a black and white striped shirt and tan shorts. They say he may be a smoker.
The suspect was last seen running southbound towards Duke Street.
