DUMFRIES, Va. (WUSA9) -- Prince William County police say a man accused of sexually assaulting a teen boy between 1999 and 2002 was charged and is being held without bond.
Forty-two-year-old Joseph Ruhren is accused of sexually assaulting a boy who lived in Dumfries between the time the boy was 14 and 17 years old, say police. The incidents occured at Ruhren's home at the time in the 3200 block of John Robinson Ln in Dumfries, according to police.
Police say they learned of the assaults due to another investigation involving Ruhren. Last year, Ruhren, who was an ice cream shop owner, was charged with 12 counts of forcible sodomy, 4 counts of indecent liberties, 4 counts of carnal knowledge, 2 counts of crimes against nature and 1 count of aggravated sexual battery. He was charged after an investigation into a series of sexual assaults which were initially reported to police in August of 2010. The investigation revealed that the victim, now a 27 year old man of Fredericksburg, had been sexually assaulted on numerous occasions from 1996-2001, when he was between 12 and 16 years of age.
In this most recent case, Ruhren is charged with three counts of indecent liberties and two counts of carnal knowledge, say police.
