FAIRFAX, Va. (WUSA9) -- City of Fairfax Police say they continue to investigate a crash into a cell phone store that killed a man on Sunday.

The traffic crash happened shortly after noon on Sunday on Fairfax Boulevard just east of the Kamp Washington intersection.

Police say a silver 2004 BMW 530I was travelling east on Route 50 and had stopped for a red light. When the light turned green, polie say the BMW quickly accelerated across three lanes of traffic, traveled briefly onto eastbound Fairfax Boulevard, and then left the road. Police tell us the BMW went across a median before hitting the outside of a T-Mobile store at 10955 Fairfax Boulevard.

The driver, 29-year-old Vladislav Bochkov of Fairfax, was transported to Fairfax Hospital where he was pronounced dead. No one else was injured at the scene, say police.

Anyone with information, including photos or observations before or after the crash, is asked to call Detective Mike Boone at 703-385-7959 or email him at michael.boone@fairfaxva.gov.
