TRIANGLE, Va. (WUSA9) -- Early Saturday morning, a man was shot as a fight was being dispersed, say Prince William County police. They are now looking for the shooter.
At 3:06 a.m. on Saturday, police say officers went to the 3600 block of Wharf Lane in Triangle for the report of a shooting. They found out that four acquaintances were involved in a fight in front of a home there. Police say as the fight was being dispersed, an unknown man approached the group and shot a 28-year-old man in his lower body. The unknown man then fled the area.
The shooting victim was transported to an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries, say police.
Police do not believe the incident is random.
The suspect was described as a Black male, between 6'1"-6'3" with a thin build and short hair. He was last seen wearing a black shirt, dark blue jeans, and a burgundy and yellow hat.
