FAIRFAX, Va. (AP/WUSA9) - Fairfax City police say a man has died after he crashed his car into a cellphone store.
Vladislav Bochkov, 29, of Fairfax, was in cardiac arrest when he was found inside his car. He was pronounced dead at the hospital, officials said.
The crash occurred Sunday afternoon on Fairfax Boulevard just east of the Kamp Washington intersection.
Police say a silver 2004 BMW 530I was travelling east on Route 50 and had stopped at a red light. As the light turned green, the car sped across three lanes of traffic and continued onto eastbound Fairfax Boulevard.
The car left the road, continued across a median, and hit a T-Mobile store, officials said.
Police said that the car was speeding when it hit the store and it appears that the driver was not wearing his seat belt. The crash is under investigation.
The building wasn't damaged, and no one else was hurt.
