CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS 19) -- The lawsuit brought against the University of Virginia and some of the members of the UVa Athletic Department by the family of Yeardley Love will not be going forward.
According to court records, the lawsuit was dropped at the request of the Love family attorneys in April 2013, less than a year after it was first filed.
The lawsuit asked for $30 million from the University for negligence that resulted in the murder of Yeardley Love by George Huguely.
A similar civil suit against Huguely is still moving forward.
His appeal for his second-degree murder conviction is continuing in state courts in Richmond.
