OAKTON, Va. (WUSA9) -- A fire took place on Saturday night leaving a home with an estimated $250,000 worth of damage.
Fairfax County Fire and Rescue firefighters responded to the house fire at 3419 Ellmore Lane in Oakton at 6:35 Saturday night, say officials.
Firefighters reported heavy smoke and fire coming out of the rear of the two-story home. Then, a second alarm was struck by the incident commander, bringing approximately 60 firefighters to the scene.
Fire quickly spread to the attic and the roof causing more damage.
After an aggressive attack by firefighters, the fire was under control within 30 minutes, leaving one firefighter with non- life threatening injury. Luckily no one was at home when the fire broke out.
One adult has been displaced. Red Cross support was offered but declined by the occupant.
