DUMFRIES, Va. (WUSA9) -- Police are searching for a man who they say stabbed a 41-year-old man while he was playing basketball.
The victim told police that he was playing basketball with several other people when he got into a verbal altercation with an unknown man, officials said.
It happened on Wednesday around 9:17 p.m in the 1100 block of Kearsarge Drive.
The altercation turned physical and the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in his abdomen, officials said.
The victim was driven to the hospital by an acquaintance and is believed to have non-life threatening injuries, officials said.
Police released the following suspect description:
"Black male, between 20 & 30 years of age, 6'3" with a medium build, bald, and a goatee. Last seen wearing a tank top and denim shorts."
