Police Looking For Driver, Car In Hit And Run Involving Cruiser In Annandale

ANNANDALE, Va. (WUSA9) -- Fairfax County Police want to know who struck a police officer and then left the scene on Gallows Road on Sunday morning.

According to police, at approximately 12:30 a.m. a Fairfax County police cruiser was traveling southbound on Gallows Road when a car traveling westbound on Masonville Drive disregarded a stop sign and entered Gallows Road. 

Police say the vehicle struck the police cruiser in the back quarter panel, making the cruiser spin and strike a utility pole.  The officer was not injured, according to police.

The other vehicle, described as a dark four-door sedan, continued in the direction of Little River Turnpike.
