WINCHESTER, Va. (WUSA9) -- One man died and two other residents were injured after their home went up in flames on Sunday, officials say.
The Winchester Fire Dept., responded to the single-family ranch-style house fire on the 900 block of Woodstock Lane at about 1:06 p.m., the City of Winchester public information officer said in a press release.
When units arrived fire was pouring out of the front side of the home and were able to contain the fire within five minutes, the release said.
When crews went inside the home to search for possible victims, they found a deceased male victim in a bathroom. A male and female occupant were also found and treated at Winchester Medical Center for possible smoke inhalation, the release said.
Fire units from all city stations responded to the scene when a second alarm was initiated.
The identity and cause of the death are not being released until the fire investigation and autopsy are complete.
