ALEXANDRIA, Va. (WUSA9) -- Power has been restored to all customers after an underground cable failure in Old Town Alexandria on Thursday morning, says Le Ha Anderson with Dominion Virginia Power.

Alexandria police officers directed traffic at three intersections at King and Washington, and King and Columbus, King and St. Asaph streets.

Anderson said the power outage started at approximately 2:15 a.m. and initially affected 1900 customers.  Anderson says crews were able to reroute the electricity before restoring power.
