FAIRFAX, Va. (AP) -- One person has died in a three-vehicle crash on Interstate-95 in Fairfax County.

Virginia State Police responded to the crash just after 12 a.m. Saturday. The southbound lanes were closed for several hours but reopened Saturday morning.

Police say a Mazda was traveling south on I-95 and ran off the right side of the highway near the exit ramp for Backlick Road. The car overturned and rolled back onto the southbound lanes, striking a Ford Focus. That crash caused the Ford to also strike a tractor-trailer.

The driver of the Mazda was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was injured.

Police are still investigating what caused the crash.
